PROCESS

1. Physical Collage
First, I find some second-hand magazines that I can use for my physical collage. I ended up choosing 4 kinds of books which are a national geographic magazine, a backyard design magazine, a fashion magazine and an outer space encyclopedia.

Then I start to compost simple combinations that I found interesting like flying car and colourful planet, gradually pieced together into a whole picture, forming my first composition.

I realised this first composition is too full and messy, so I reduced some elements and keep the girl with the galaxy face and the wing to try forming second composition.

This last composition I came up with would be my final choice. For this composition, I
completely scrapped the previous ideas and tried out an entirely different format. This time I arrange the guy and explosion background on the top left and the colourful planet on the bottom right. Between them, I put eye and face to embellish the image and provide guidance for the viewer to focus on the words on top. I think the flow of this image is good which creates an S shape view line.
