Reflection:
Reflection - Exercise
In the early stages, I was really lost and didn’t have a clear direction. I kept changing my ideas, which ended up wasting a lot of time. Looking back, I realize this was not an efficient way to work. In the future, I’ll try to avoid overthinking and stick to one direction once it’s decided, without making unnecessary changes. This will help me manage my time better and focus on refining my chosen idea.
Reflection - Project 1 (Exterior)
When it came to designing the environment, I found it incredibly challenging. Despite my best efforts, I still feel that environmental design is one of my weaknesses. However, I understand its importance and know it’s a skill I need to master to grow as a designer. Whenever I have the time, I plan to practice more and refine my techniques so that I can approach similar projects with greater confidence and skill in the future.
Reflection - Project 2 (Interior)
For the interior design, what frustrated me the most was that the compositions I created freely often looked better visually but had incorrect perspectives. To fix this, I blocked out the rough layout in ZBrush and redrew it with correct perspective. Unfortunately, I couldn’t capture the vibe or energy of my original version. I had to compromise for the sake of accuracy, which felt a little disappointing. On top of that, this piece was rushed, so many details weren’t as polished as I’d like. I plan to revisit and improve on it in the future when I have more time.
Overall Reflection on the Module
Overall, this module was both enjoyable and exhausting. The combination of creative freedom and technical challenges pushed me to explore my skills further. However, I feel that translating my designs directly into 3D models would have been more effective. Rendering in 3D could produce higher-quality results and allow for more dynamic perspectives and lighting. Unfortunately, I haven’t fully mastered Blender yet and am still in the learning process. That’s why I chose to stick with painting instead of using 3D modeling for this project. Moving forward, I plan to dedicate more time to learning Blender so that I can leverage its potential in future projects.
