TUTORIAL

PHOTOGRAPHY BASIC

Some notes from this video:

ISO (Sensitivity to light)
- outdoor - ISO100
-  Shade - ISO200
-  Indoor - ISO400-800

Aperture (Size of opening in the lens)
- Only one person - low f/stop (f/2)
- more person - f/3.5 f/4 etc.,
- For everything to be in focus (in landscape images) go to f/16 or f/20

Shutter speed (Amount of time the shutter is open)
- Slow shutter speeds - used when on tripods.
- For portrait - 1/250, 1/500 (ppl look sharp)
- slow shutter speed (1/100) Works best for low light situations as well.
- SLOW SHUTTER SPEED = MORE MOTION BLUR (More light)
- When subject is moving - 1/800

Setting:
1. Set ISO first based on scene light (ISO100 OR 200 for outdoors)
2. Decide how much depth of field you want (focus only 1 person or focus on the next nearby person) More Aperture = more depth of focus.
3. How much motion blur do I want to avoid?

You take a TEST shot of the scene and the pic is too DARK.
1. Slow the shutter speed down until you don't see a motion blur.
2. Lower the Aperture to LET MORE LIGHT until the subject is in focus.
3. Raise your ISO.

You take a TEST shot of the scene and the pic is too BRIGHT.
1. Reduce ISO.
2. Raise the shutter speed.
3. VERY LAST, Raise the Aperture (Remember you will have a larger circle IN FOCUS)

Product Photography Tips:
-Add props related to the product in front or behind the product to create a good composition.
-Add some actions or lifestyle using the product to make it more realistic to consumer.
