LECTURE

DIGITAL PHOTOGRAPHY

EXPOSURE SETTING

the amount of light which reaches your camera sensor or film.

1. IRIS

Iris/Aperture is control the flow of light entering the lens.

The lower the f-number, the larger the lens opening.

2. SHUTTER SPEED

The shutter is a small plastic sheet that opens and closes to allow light onto the film or prevent light from reaching the film.

3. ISO

Originally referred to the sensitivity of film—it's "light gathering" ability. For digital photography, ISO refers to the sensitivity—the signal gain—of the camera's sensor.

The lower the number of ISO the less sensitive your camera is to light and the finer the grain.

TUTORIAL

STUDIO SHOOTING

This video demonstrates some interesting techniques that people without professional camera equipment can use to try photography. The most important thing in photography is lighting, and it is obvious that anything can be photographed with the help of lighting.

PRACTICAL
PHOTO MANIPULATION (HEARST MANSION)

Process:

First, I crop the Shazam poster with quick selection tool and refine it in the select and mask section. Then use the match colour tool to adjust the colour and the lightness of the shazam to match the background. I also add shadow using the brush tool, add Gaussian blur, and reduce its opacity to make it natural. Lastly, I copy the shazam and flip it vertically to create a reflection on the water.

Next, I use my own photo which was taken on campus to put me in the Hearst mansion too. I repeat the steps again to successfully crop me in the picture.
